2025 Nero D'Avola
We fashioned our Nero d’Avola to be a clean, vibrant red - unpretentious yet expressive. Bright red cherry, blood plum and floral hints form the aromatic core. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and supple, driven by juicy fruit, fine-grained tannins and a fresh, energetic finish. This is Nero d’Avola in its most graceful form.

The 2025 Nero d’Avola marks our first release of this variety, produced from the inaugural crop of vines on our estate. I was pleasantly excited by the level of fruit concentration and vibrancy achieved, especially considering the young age of the vineyard. This wine is a strong first expression and one we expect to go from strength to strength as the vines mature with each passing vintage.
Fruit was picked at optimal ripeness and cold soaked for three days to gently extract colour, aromatics and soft tannins. Fermentation followed over 14 days on skins, allowing full flavour and structure development while preserving the wine’s bright profile.
After pressing, the wine was transferred to stainless steel to settle, then racked into seasoned oak barrels for maturation. The use of old oak allowed for gentle micro-oxygenation to soften tannins and bring harmony to the palate - without imparting overt oak character. The result is a medium-bodied, fruit-driven red with energy, fine texture and finesse.
